USPS to hold job fairs throughout central Pennsylvania in July

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The United States Postal Service will host a series of job fairs throughout south-central Pennsylvania as part of its 10-year plan, “Delivering for America.”

There will be seven career fairs in our region, with the first being held today in Spring Grove, York County.

The USPS is seeking to immediately fill positions for Rural Carrier Associates and Urban Carrier Assistants. These positions pay $19.50 per hour and $18.92 per hour respectively.

The Postal Service says it offers competitive salaries and benefits, as well as career advancement opportunities.

Applicants must apply through the USPS website, must be 18 years of age, and will be required to pass a drug and criminal background check.

Through the “Delivering for America” ​​plan, the USPS says they will be able to focus on building a more stable, self-sufficient workforce amid a nationwide labor shortage. national.

“So we’re just looking to push a game plan forward, to pretty much become more viable and sustainable for the future, and the first part of the plan is to invest in our workforce and strengthen our pathways. transportation,” Mark Lawrence with USPS said. “The plan is going very well, but you know, like any industry, we want to make sure we stay afloat and stay viable for the future.”

The USPS will also host job fairs in Shippensburg, Harrisburg, and Lebanon.
