OAKLAND, CA., November 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir (IGCO), under the direction of Terrance Kellyis delighted to present its 37e annual holiday concert, STILL AWAKE. After going through a few years of virtual and outdoor events, the Bay Area’s beloved holiday concert will be presented in person at the Oakland Scottish Rite Center Grand Auditorium on Saturday, December 3at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will maintain its tradition featuring the three main ensembles of the eight ensembles of the OIGC: Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, Oakland Youth Interfaith Choirand Oakland Interfaith Community Choir. This year’s guest artists will feature familiar faces, including the exuberant To lack Jackie Tolbert and JaKorea Prothroas well as accomplished artists Josh Carter and Kathi Mills. ASL interpreters Sherry Hicks and Michel Velez from Half-N-Half will return for another joyful year.

Tickets for STILL AWAKE price range from $30$100. An accompanying VIP event before the concert, jingle mingleis included with the $100 ticket and includes light food and drink and a meeting with the founding artistic director Terrance Kellyyouth program director The Nell Martinand executive director Maren Amdal. A live streaming option is available for $15.

New this year is the Christmas youth concert on Saturday, December 3 at 2:30 p.m. Following the acquisition of the Oakland Youth Choirthe Yuletide Youth Concert was created to feature five ensembles with singers aged five to 18—Oakland Youth Choir together under the direction of The Nell Martin; the Oakland Youth Interfaith Choir, which is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary; and an inaugural performance by the newest and youngest ensemble, the Oakland Interfaith Children’s Choirled by longtime OIGC vocalist, Isa S.Chu. General admission for the Yuletide Youth Concert is $25 with discounts for family and community groups. Tickets for both concerts are on sale now at www.oigc.org/events.

The December 3 the holiday concerts kick off a month of performances for the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir. After two years, OIGC is excited to return to its South Bay site in Mountain View Performing Arts Center on Thursday, December 22and celebrating Christmas Eve (December 24) at that of San Francisco Great American Music Hall.
