Chelsea in surprise £30m transfer for Fulham star Luke Harris, 17

Chelsea are in talks over a surprise move for Fulham youngster Luke Harris in a potential £30million transfer, according to reports in England.

The 17-year-old is one of the most promising young players and recently impressed Chelsea after scoring a hat-trick in a PL2 game against the Blues.

Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have worked with academy chief Neil Bath so far this summer to add to the Blues academy.

The likes of Eddie Beach, Omari Hutchinson, Cesare Casadei, Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina were all brought in.

Chukwuemeka was the most notable arrival, coming from Aston Villa for a fee of £20m.

The Blues show no signs of slowing down in their recruitment despite the closure of the transfer window.

Boehly, acting as interim sporting director, has targeted a move for another youngster.

This time, Chelsea are looking to sign Fulham striker Harris, according to reports.

As declared per The Mirror, Chelsea are willing to pay up to £30million for Harris.

The striker is yet to make his first-team appearance for Fulham but was called up to Wales’ UEFA Nations League squad this week.

Harris is seen as the youngster with the most potential in Fulham’s academy, and after scoring three goals against Chelsea, the Blues looked to him.

The report goes on to reveal that Chelsea have already been involved in advanced talks with Fulham.

A deal would involve an upfront fee of £25m, with additional payments totaling £30m.

He has a contract until 2025, signing his first professional contract in September.

However, his stay at Craven Cottage could be short-lived as Chelsea intensify their interest.

It remains to be seen whether the Blues will step up their pursuit of the striker.

Any move would likely see him arrive in January as Graham Potter could make the youngster one of his first signings at Stamford Bridge after replacing Thomas Tuchel.
