“The Resilience Advantage” presents on November 17 the head of resilience of LA, leaders of the US Green Building Council LA and the US Resiliency Council.

LOS ANGELES, November 16, 2021 / PRNewswire / – A panel of experts will close this year’s Resilience Advantage webinar series on Wednesday with vital information on protecting and sustaining the well-being of communities from major earthquakes and other natural hazards.

The bone Angeles Region Room of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Maria S. Salinas will appear on the program to make special introductory comments on the importance of resilience.

Public Policy Officer for the Los Angeles County Federation of Businesses Chris Wilson will also appear in the program.

Nearly 60 leaders from government, business, education, and social and environmental nonprofits spoke during the series on the importance of building resilience to achieve key goals. These goals include:

Economic stability: To prevent widespread destruction and closure of local economies that can result in billions of dollars in losses to communities and the state.

A secure society: Preserving the homes, businesses, services and jobs essential to the stability of our community, thereby avoiding catastrophic displacement, disruption and homelessness.

Environmental health: To avoid overloading landfills and the risk of exposure to toxic substances such as asbestos and lead, which can escape into the environment from the rubble of older failed structures.
